Woodford Reserve Five-Malt Stouted Mash Series 17 Master’s Collection

Part of the Master’s Collection from Woodford Reserve, this is the 2021 release Five-Malt Stouted Mash Series No. 17.
In Kentucky, a fermented grain mash is traditionally called ‘distiller’s beer’. Distillation converts this ‘beer’ into a spirit that will become a ‘Whiskey’ once barrelled.
For this 2021 Master’s Collection release Master Distiller Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller, Elizabeth McCall explore the different profiles of classic beer styles, and how these carry through to the final spirit. They crafted a spirit that exhibits the flavours of a classic beer style, in this case, a rich, roasted malty stout.

    Nose:    Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, burnt sugar and spices.

    Taste:    Sweet, cocoa, toasted hazelnut, baked fruits and spices.

    Finish:    A long finish with coffee, cocoa and chocolate.
