Springbank Longrow 11 Year Old Red Pinot Noir Cask Matured

Springbank distillery is located in Campbeltown, a picturesque Scottish town situated at the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula on the glorious west coast.
The first reference to Campbeltown whisky is recorded in writing in 1591. Springbank was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still, becoming the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown. Today, Springbank is one of only three distilleries operating in the Campbeltown area and is the oldest independent family-owned distillery in Scotland.

Named after another lost distillery of Campbeltown (which once operated right next door to Springbank and whose warehouse now houses our bottling hall), Longrow was first produced in 1973 to provide a peaty, oily and robust component to a blend being created at the time. More heavily peated and double distilled, it has been a staple in the production calendar since the 1990s.

The 2019 edition of The Longrow 11 Year Old from Springbank has been matured 8 years in bourbon casks, then it was transferred to refill Pinot Noir barriques from acclaimed wine maker Grant Taylor’s Valli vineyards in Central Otago, New Zealand for about 3 years.
Only 9,000 bottles at cask strength released.
