Springbank 15 Year Old Rum Wood 2019

Springbank distillery is located in Campbeltown, a picturesque Scottish town situated at the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula on the glorious west coast.
The first reference to Campbeltown whisky is recorded in writing in 1591. Springbank was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still, becoming the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown. Today, Springbank is one of only three distilleries operating in the Campbeltown area and is the oldest independent family-owned distillery in Scotland.

This 15 year old single malt from Springbank was drawn from rum casks, which have imparted vibrant tropical fruit notes, bringing a delicious juxtaposition to the flavour profile.
Bottled in 2019 at 51% vol.
 

    Nose:    Grassy peat followed by fried banana and stem ginger.

    Taste:    Tangy at first with tropical fruit juice, before savoury waves of smoke bring balance to the palate.

    Finish:    Lasting peppery oak and a touch of honeycomb.
