Springbank 10 Year Old Amontillado 2024 Release

Amontillado is the third release of the Sherry Wood Series from Springbank distillery, showcasing the Springbank spirit being matured in different styles of sherry casks. The Sherry Wood Series will eventually consist of five different expressions; the Pedro Ximenez was the first one, followed by the Palo Cortado release.
This expression was initially matured for five years in bourbon casks followed by five years in Amontillado sherry casks. Released November 2024.
Only 9,900 bottles released.

    Nose:    There is an earthy, mustiness on the nose, along with notes of hazelnut, maraschino cherries and blood orange.

    Taste:    Notes of cured meats, gorse and tobacco box are balanced with sweet hints of coconut and treacle.

    Finish:    A dry finish with notes of wood shavings and tarragon.

Springbank distillery is located in Campbeltown, a picturesque Scottish town situated at the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula on the glorious west coast.
The first reference to Campbeltown whisky is recorded in writing in 1591. Springbank was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still, becoming the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown. Today, Springbank is one of only three distilleries operating in the Campbeltown area and is the oldest independent family-owned distillery in Scotland.
