Midleton Very Rare 2024 Edition Vintage Release Irish Whiskey

Part of the annual vintage release of Midleton Very Rare, since 1984, each Master Distiller of Midleton uses their eye for detail, their passion for quality whiskey and their exemplary skill to create the pinnacle of Irish whiskey, their special vintage release.
Midleton Very Rare 2024 release, marks 40 years since the release of its first vintage whiskey, and it delights with decadent flavours and a tantalising taste. For the 2024 edition, Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman increased the grain percentage and the amount of medium pot still whiskey (Midleton makes three styles of pot still: light, medium, and heavy style), as well as raising the number of first-fill American oak whiskey barrels of both pot and grain whiskey.
It was awarded Silver Medal at IWSC Spirit Awards 2024.

Nose:    Richly scented vanilla with delightful floral and herbal notes to the fore, while aromas of orchard fruits gently build over time, adding ripe apple and sweet pear. The pot still spices, complemented by the nuanced American oak, add warming notes of cinnamon, clove and freshly mown hay that mingle with the delectable notes of toffee and heather honey.

Taste:    Silky smooth and luscious at first with mouth-watering tropical fruit notes of peach and nectarine, combining effortlessly with the decadent tastes of crème brûlée, toffee-apple and chocolate dipped honeycomb. The delicate floral grain qualities and full[1]bodied pot still spices combine seamlessly with the charred oak influences, showcasing a wonderfully balanced yet complex and elegant whiskey.

Finish:   Lasting finish which sees the fruits and American oak continue to softly linger until the very end.
