Macallan Rare Cask 2023 Release Single Malt Whisky

The Rare Cask was introduced in 2014 as a permanent addition to the 1824 Master Series, a premium tier of the regular 1824 core range which was marketed between 2012 and 2018. When the 1824 series was discontinued in 2018, the Rare Cask was retained as part of the portfolio, becoming an annual small batch release. Between 2018 and 2019 it became a thrice-annual small batch release, before switching to a single annual batch release in 2020.
The Macallan Rare Cask is a distinctive Single Malt Whisky crafted from unique oak casks which exhibit an intense sweet raisin flavour profile and an incredible, rich, smooth complexity. These hand selected casks are a rare and special discovery.
This is the 2023 Release, a collaboration with renowned musician, Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds. Embarking on an exquisite journey, they explored the intricacies of the sensory world, discovering the striking parallels between sound, aroma, flavour, and colour, all intertwined through the shared element of wood.

    Nose:   Soft notes of vanilla with rich raisin, followed by a sweet fusion of fresh apple, lemon and orange.

    Taste:    An intense sweet raisin dominates before giving way to vanilla and dark chocolate, with layers of light citrus zest.

    Finish:    Long, rich and velvety.
