Macallan Gold 1824 Series Single Malt Whisky

Macallan released a new four-part range - The Macallan 1824 Series, which is discerned by the colour of the liquid rather than age.
The Series launched September 2013 in the UK, matured in both American oak and Spanish oak Oloroso sherry casks.
The Macallan 1824 Series is separate to The Macallan 1824 Collection that is currently exclusively available in global travel retail. The Series may come to be known as ‘The Colour Range' in time.

    Nose:     Lemon citrus, then orange peel and an interlacing sweetness that softens but does not eliminate the zest. A quiet note of vanilla is followed by dark chocolate with lingering floral and light oak notes.

    Taste:    Citrus and boiled sweets rule the palate, along with hints of ginger and cinnamon, while soft oak tones reveal toasted apples.

    Finish:    Medium sweet, malty and slightly dry.
