Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Wheated Bourbon Whiskey

The first edition of Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon Whiskey, aged for six years in rickhouse W3 on the third, fourth and fifth floors. It was bottled without chill filtration at 121 Proof. The corn seed varietal chosen for this release was Beck’s 6158.
For Grain to Glass, Heaven Hill partnered with two like-minded companies, Beck’s Hybrids and Peterson Farms, which share their commitment to quality and a passion that’s been passed down for generations. Each year, the team at Beck’s Hybrids, along with Heaven Hill’s Master Distiller will evaluate different corn seed varietals or hybrids, choosing then ones with desirable qualities such as resilience and overall grain quality. They will breed these hybrids over several years, resulting in a strong seed specifically designed for whiskey making in Kentucky. That corn seed varietal is displayed on the label, along with the unique mashbill.

Nose:    Primarily walnuts and almonds with notes of whole wheat bread, cedar and oak.

Taste:    Toasted whole wheat bread and molasses with a pleasantly surprising peppery spice.

Finish:   Notes of pepper slowly fade to reveal oak tannins and an echo of sweet molasses.
