Bladnoch 19 Year Old 2023 Release Single Malt Whisky

The 19 Year Old is the first PX Sherry expression that Bladnoch has released. This is the 2023 Release of the Bladnoch 19 Year Old Lowland Single Malt Whisky, matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The flavourful casks have imparted delectable notes of dark liquorice sticks, dried apricots and warming nutmeg into the golden-hued whisky.

Nose:     Dark liquorice sticks and aged oak with a floral background.

Taste:    Liquorice sticks with dried apricots, almonds and nutmeg.

Finish:    Long with a dry sweetness.

Over 200 years old, Bladnoch’s history dates back to 1817, when John and Thomas McClelland were first granted a licence to distil Whisky on their Bladnoch farm in Scotland’s Lowlands. For nearly a century, successive generations of McClelland family grew and modernised the distillery. At its peak, the site had six washbacks and annual production of approximately 230,000 litres of alcohol, which cemented its status as the “Queen of the Lowlands”.
In 2015 Bladnoch was acquired by David Prior, an Australian entrepreneur, who began an extensive refurbishment of the distillery.
In 2017, after 2 years of renovations, Bladnoch resumed production, making it one of the oldest and one of the largest privately owned Scotch Whisky distilleries.
