Benriach 30 Year Old The Thirty Single Malt Whisky

Benriach 30 Year Old Single Malt, crafted from peated spirit and four cask matured is the deepest, richest expression of Benriach. It was matured for at least thirty years in sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and port casks from the Douro Valley. During long maturation Benriach’s smoke mellows and integrates with the fruit, malt and oak. After thirty years, rich layering develops into sublime honeyed smoke, further enhanced through multi-layered cask maturation. The whisky from each cask type, each with particular flavour characteristics, is then expertly married together to create an exquisitely harmonious Single Malt.

Nose:    Stewed plum, baked orange, smoked walnut and cinnamon cocoa.

Taste:    Dark fruit, manuka honey and chocolate raisin.

Finish:   Long and complex smoked honey finish.

The Benriach Distillery was founded in 1898 by John Duff, a serial entrepreneur within the whisky industry. Having pursued whisky adventures at home and abroad, John decided that the best place to build his new distillery would be on a small hill, or ‘Ben’ at the site of the old ‘Riach’ farm, in the north of Speyside. Benriach was born.
Although the rough-hewn walls of Benriach’s warehouses may seem unassuming, they are home to a rare breed of creative expertise in whisky distilling and eclectic cask maturation. It is where their ingenious and dedicated team spend their days crafting their award-winning Speyside single malts, tirelessly pushing the limits of flavour possibility.
